This one-day workshop will focus on self-portraiture, in its broadest sense, as a means of reflection and transformation. Moving beyond traditional self-portraiture, the goal of this workshop is to delve deeper — exploring the masks society conditions us to wear and revealing aspects of ourselves we’ve kept hidden.

The workshop will begin with a presentation highlighting female artists who explored these themes, providing context and inspiration. Then, students will be guided by prompts to explore their own identity, emotions and self-expression through art-making practices in charcoal, watercolor, pastel, mirrors and other unique materials.
