This hand-building clay class offers an exploration of Nerikomi, a Japanese ceramic technique that involves layering, folding and slicing different colored clays to create geometric patterns. (Hate glazing? You’ll love this!) Students will learn to create evocative abstract designs by combining and manipulating different colored clay to achieve a desired pattern used in simple shapes, such as bowls and plates.
