Explore water-based pigment painting, focusing mainly on acrylic, gouache, and watercolor. Delve into this expansive media through exercises/demonstrations/motivations of water-based techniques and processes including color washes, blending, mixing, wet-on-wet, dry brushing, direct painting, layering, and mixed-media painting on different types of papers, canvases, and surfaces. Participants may bring whatever water-based materials, brushes, palettes, and pigments they already have. Midweek participants will tour the D’Amico House to view the collection. A critique will be held on the last day of class.
