• Participants will tour the D’Amico House midweek to view Mabel D’Amico’s mask artworks

This class explores the art of mask-making using found objects and constructed elements. Drawing on art historical references from cultures around the world, as well as Mabel D’Amico’s dynamic collection of handmade mask artworks, participants will design and construct unique masks that investigate identity, storytelling, and transformation. Participants are encouraged to bring in small materials that have personal value to them to use in their artworks, but a variety of materials will be available for use. Battery and electric tools will be available. A critique will be held on the last day of class.
