This full day class will explore a variety of relief printmaking carving techniques and printing. Each morning, participants will learn and practice a new carving technique, focusing mainly on mounted linoleum blocks (lino-cut), but also exploring soft linoleum blocks and unmounted linoleum. In the afternoons, participants will delve into the process of printing their carvings, both by hand and with a press. Building and exposing cyanotypes will be introduced as an optional medium to explore composition and flat shapes, informing the work with relief printmaking. Midweek participants will tour the D’Amico House to view the collection. A critique will be held on the last day of class.
