Participants will explore the application of dry and oil pastels in varying densities and colors to create depth, perspective, and overall composition. Participants will work with hard and soft pastels on assorted papers. Exercises will be suggested, and demonstrations provided throughout the week. Subject material may include still life, landscape, and botanicals. Participants can bring their own pastels and pastel paper, but basic materials will be provided. Midweek participants will tour the D’Amico House to view the collection. A critique will be held on the last day of class.
