This beginner weaving course introduces the fundamentals of hand weaving on a frame loom. Participants learn to set up and warp a loom while exploring various weaving, knotting, and stitching techniques to create textile works that emphasize texture, structure, and personal expression. Guided demonstrations support experimentation with yarns, fabrics, and natural or recycled materials, encouraging each participant to develop a unique visual language in fiber. A critique will be held on the final day of class.
Note: This is an introductory class, designed for beginners. Returning Weaving students should enroll in a more advanced workshop. Check out Mixed Media Experimental Weaving.
