Explore the properties of traditional transparent watercolors with a series of set-ups, exercises, and demonstrations as motivational inspiration. Experiment with the techniques of washes, dry brush and wet-on-wet. Combine watercolors with other water-based pigments such as gouache and acrylics. Emphasis will be placed on becoming more confident in the use of watercolor media and papers. It is suggested that more experienced participants bring the watercolor supplies they have. Midweek, participants will tour the D’Amico House to view the collection. A critique will be held on the last day of class.
