Explore the properties of traditional transparent watercolors and other water-based pigments with a series of set-ups, exercises, and demonstrations as motivational inspiration. Combine watercolors with other water-based pigments such as tempera, gouache, and acrylics.  Experiment with the techniques of washes, dry brush and wet on wet, etc. Emphasis will be placed on becoming more confident in the use of supplies and materials.

The Barge will provide all basic materials for beginners, but it is suggested that participants bring whatever brushes, pigments, and papers that they already have.
