• Participants will tour the D’Amico House midweek to view Mabel D’Amico’s cast artworks

Inspired by Mabel D’Amico’s cast sculptures, this workshop explores the hands-on process of sand casting in which objects and textures are pressed into sand to create molds that are then filled with plaster or cement to form sculptural pieces and reliefs. Participants explore texture, composition, and form while transforming everyday and found materials into expressive three-dimensional works. This class is weather-dependent, and participants will work in the studio and outside. A critique will be held on the last day of class.
