Based on the found art constructions from Joseph Cornell to Mabel D’Amico, Box Art, consists of an assemblage of found or collected objects, collaged and affixed into shallow boxes of any kind. These creations tell stories, create dreamy landscapes, evoke a mood, give a sense of the passage of time, celebrate a person, place, or special occasion, or express nostalgia.

Participants are encouraged to bring personal treasures, photographs, and natural objects from their own collections. Participants can bring a box or use one that is provided. The construction of boxes will also be applied.

Midweek participants will tour the D’Amico House to view the collection. A critique will be held on the last day of class.
