DESCRIPTION:Open to all levels\nAll supplies provided.\n\nExplore abstract painting as a device for emotional expression\, with an emphasis on spontaneity. Paint intuitively and leave judgments and demands of the intellect behind. \nEach session will introduce a new starting point or technique: letters\, words\, curves\, circles\, strokes\, swatches of color\, glue\, thick paint\, or fluid and alternative painting tools that can be used as a motivation to lead to line\, form\, texture\, and color. Work on paper or canvas with acrylic pigments as you reach into your imagination and allow yourself the freedom to play. Students can work on one painting a day or one for the week. DESCRIPTION:Open to all levels\nAll supplies provided\n\nBased on the found art constructions from Joseph Cornell to Mabel D’Amico\, Box Art\, consists of an assemblage of found or collected objects\, collaged and affixed into shallow boxes of any kind. These creations tell stories\, create dreamy landscapes\, evoke a mood\, give a sense of the passage of time\, celebrate a person\, place\, or special occasion\, or express nostalgia. \nParticipants are encouraged to bring personal treasures\, photographs\, and natural objects from their own collections. Participants can bring a box or use one that is provided. The construction of boxes will also be applied. \nMidweek participants will tour the D’Amico House to view the collection. DESCRIPTION:Open to all levels\nBasic supplies provided\n\nExplore the properties of traditional transparent watercolors with a series of set-ups\, exercises\, and demonstrations as motivational inspiration. Experiment with the techniques of washes\, dry brush and wet-on-wet. Combine watercolors with other water-based pigments such as gouache and acrylics. Emphasis will be placed on becoming more confident in the use of watercolor media and papers. It is suggested that more experienced participants bring the watercolor supplies they have. DESCRIPTION:The Art of Seeing with Carmen Lund™ is a drawing/painting workshop. Participants will work in watercolor or oil pastel.  The approach will support participants to get out of their heads and into their hearts so they will be able to confidently express their unique personal voices. Participants will be guided through a series of exercises enabling them to create artwork that will be fresh and free. DESCRIPTION:Open to all levels\nAll supplies provided\nParticipants should bring a collection of color and/or black and white laser printed copies\, no larger than 8 ½ by 11 inches in size\, to the first class.\n\nExplore the process and possibilities of image transfer — lifting ink/toner from a color or black and white laser copier printout and then affixing the image to watercolor paper or canvas. The resulting more transparent image can be used as a point of interest on a surface that becomes integrated into an abstract or representational painting using water-based mediums. Experiment with including elements of drawing\, text\, and collage in the painting. Midweek\, participants will tour the D’Amico House to view the collection.
