DESCRIPTION:Previous painting experience encouraged.\nBring your own paint\, brushes and canvases (24” size limitation)\nEasels and tables are available for use in the Studio and on the Barge decks. \nParticipants will tour the D’Amico House midweek. \n\nStudio Process provides individual instruction to artists in a group setting. Instruction aims at heightening the power of expression of each artist in relation to her/his inherent uniqueness. Demonstrations\, motivational set-ups and Friday group critiques are included.  \nArtists may work using any medium: acrylic\, oil\, watercolor\, tempera\, drawing and collage media.  \nInstructor: Bill Nagle

DESCRIPTION:Open to all levels\nAll supplies provided\nParticipants will tour the D’Amico House midweek\n\nDelve into traditional transparent watercolors with a series of set-ups\, exercises\, and demonstrations. A particular emphasis will be placed on observation\, abstraction and color as points of inspiration. Experiment with techniques of washes\, dry brush\, wet-on-wet\, and other water-based pigments\, including gouache\, on an array of watercolor media and papers. More experienced participants may bring the watercolor supplies they have. A critique will be held on the last day of class. \nInstructor: Kirsten Benfield

DESCRIPTION:Open to all levels\nAll supplies provided\nParticipants will tour the D’Amico House midweek\n\nThis hand-building clay class offers an exploration of Nerikomi\, a Japanese ceramic technique that involves layering\, folding and slicing different colored clays to create geometric patterns. (Hate glazing? You’ll love this!) Students will learn to create evocative abstract designs by combining and manipulating different colored clay to achieve a desired pattern used in simple shapes\, such as bowls and plates.  \nInstructor: Serina Mayer
