SUMMARY:ASSEMBLAGE with Bill Nagle (p.m.)
DESCRIPTION:Create dimensional constructions for wall pieces\, standing sculptures\, and free-form mosaics using natural and man-made found objects. Through demonstrations/motivations/exercises and discussions\, participants will explore the possibilities of using various found object materials for creating their own artworks.   Themes to explore are texture\, form\, architecture\, marine landscapes\, mobiles\, masks\, and the human figure. SUMMARY:PASTEL with Trudy Zohn (a.m.)
DESCRIPTION:Open to all levels\nBasic supplies provided\n\nParticipants will explore the application of dry and oil pastels in varying densities and colors to create depth\, perspective\, and overall composition. Participants will work with hard and soft pastels on assorted papers. Exercises will be suggested\, and demonstrations provided throughout the week. Subject material may include still life\, landscape\, and botanicals. Participants can bring their own pastels and pastel paper\, but basic materials will be provided. Midweek participants will tour the D’Amico House to view the collection. A critique will be held on the last day of class. \nInstructor: Trudy Zohn

Instruction will aim at heightening the power of expression of each artist in relation to her/his inherent uniqueness. Artists may work using any medium or any combination thereof: acrylic\, oil\, watercolor\, tempera\, drawing media\, collage media and assemblage media. Easels and tables are available for use on the Barge decks and adjacent beaches. Instructor demonstrations\, motivational set-ups and Friday group critiques are included. Artists are encouraged to supply their own paints\, brushes\, and painting surfaces/canvases. DESCRIPTION:All supplies provided\n1:30pm – 3:30pm\n\nThe children’s studio program offers an immersive week-long creative education experience for children. Based on Mabel and Victor D’Amico’s renowned Children’s Art Carnival\, this motivation-based educational approach allows children to immerse themselves in their own unique creative process. Studio time will include a dynamic array of indoor and outdoor drawing\, painting\, collage\, and/or sculpture activities.
